KAMALA 1999 – JOINT CRAFTS COUNCIL EXHIBITION

The Crafts Council of Karnataka participated in this exhibition in which CCK’s product initiative, of wood inlay products designed by eminent artist S. G. Vasudev and crafted by National Awardee Shri L. Nagaraj were showcased.

KUTEERA – EXHIBITION AND SALE OF CRAFTS

The Crafts Council of Karnataka organised Kuteera, Exhibition and Sale of crafts, at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, in which craftspersons from across the country participated.

The exhibition and sale was sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi

DESIGN DEVELOMENT OF WOOD INLAY PRODUCTS FOR EXPORT – EXHIBITION

(29 - 30 DECEMBER 1998) Bangalore

The Crafts Council of Karnataka organised an exhibition of wood inlay craft products under the “Design and Development for Wood Inlay for Exports Project”. Eminent artist S. G. Vasudev, evolved 25 designs for wood inlay products that were executed by National Awardee Shri L. Nagaraj.

VASTRABHARANA 1998

(09 - 14 SEPTEMBER 1998) Bangalore

The Crafts Council of Karnataka’s annual flagship event, Vastrabharana - Exhibition and Sale of hand- crafted textiles and jewellery was held between 9 -14 September 1998 at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore, in which 20 textile exhibitors participated.

Vastrabharana 1998 was inaugurated by Smt. Shoba Nambisan I.A.S. Managing Director, Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation, Bangalore.

MASKS IN RITUAL PERFORMANCES - ILLUSTRATED TALK

(01 SEPTEMBER 1998) Bangalore

The Crafts Council of Karnataka, in association with Bharatiya Bhavan, organised an Illustrated Talk by eminent artist Shri. Balan Nambiar that highlighted the significance of masks in ritual performances of Karnataka and Kerala.

BELL METAL PRODUCTS EXHIBITION

(22 -24 MAY 1998) Bangalore

An Exhibition and Sale of bell metal products, produced during the Training Program at Kundapur, sponsored by the Royal Norwegian Embassy, was held at Bhoomika Hall, Malleswaram, Bangalore.

Dr. T. Lokanadha Sharma, Regional Director (SR) inaugurated the exhibition and gave away certificates to trainees.

TRAINING PROGRAM IN KASUTI EMBROIDERY

(1998) Bangalore

The Crafts Council of Karnataka organised a training program for 3 months in Kasuti Embroidery for women from weaker sections of society. Smt. Jayashree Kannan, master craftsperson imparted the training.

The training program was sponsored by Aid to Artisans, USA and Crafts Council of India.
